Alberta Health Services (AHS) has an exciting opportunity to join the Stollery Children’s Hospital as a Nurse Practitioner in the Pediatric Respirology Program in Edmonton, Alberta. The Stollery is a specialized site with expertise and programs to ensure children who require critical care, inpatient and ambulatory services receive the best care possible. Description:

As a Nurse Practitioner (NP), you will provide a full range of comprehensive health services to individuals across their lifespan. You will be responsible for integrating clinical skills associated with nursing and medicine to assess, diagnose, order, and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe treatment, and perform procedures to manage and meet the health needs of patients. Additionally, you will utilize advanced practice nursing competencies related to Clinical Practice, Leadership and Optimizing Health Systems, Education, and Research to increase care quality, promote appropriate use of health services, and inform and influence healthcare systems. Required Qualifications:

Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program and a minimum of master's degree. Registration with CRNA on the Nurse Practitioner Registrar including Provisional Graduate Nurse Practitioner licensure. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Master of Nursing or equivalent graduate degree with a focus on advanced clinical nursing practice in pediatric respirology. A minimum of 3-5 years of pediatric and/or critical care clinical experience as a registered nurse or nurse practitioner is required. Demonstrated ability to work well in a multidisciplinary team. Self-directed with the ability to work in a patient and family centered, multidisciplinary team environment. Demonstrated leadership ability. Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Strong clinical skills. Excellent critical thinking.

Preferred Qualifications:

Completion of a recognized Nurse Practitioner program in a child health stream. Experience with pediatric respirology patient population. Connect Care experience is required. Computer experience (MS Office, Netcare) is an asset. PALS/ACLS certification is an asset.
