Required Qualifications:

Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner Program in the adult stream. Current practice permit from the College of Registered Nurse of Alberta (or eligible to be registered). Current ACLS and Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certifications. Minimum of 2 years recent experience as an NP in a relevant clinical setting and/or front-line clinical work with preference for those working in an acute care setting. Minimum of 5 years recent clinical nursing experience relevant to the specialty area.


Additional Required Qualifications:

Proven leadership and communication skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision making responsibilities, coaching and teaching, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others. Ability to positively influence an environment of workflow improvement, patient safety, best practice, and continuous quality improvement. Ability to foster partnerships and strong relationships with internal AHS programs and services, and external agencies. Excellent organizational, prioritization, and change management skills. Demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development. Ability to maintain effective and respectful working relationships. Ability to follow and adhere to AHS policies, procedures, goals and objectives. Commitment to acquiring AHS recommended immunizations within the first ninety (90) days of employment. Expertise working with electronic health information systems (e.g., Connect Care, E-Critical, Netcare).


Preferred Qualifications:

Canadian Nurses Association (CNA) Critical Care certification or equivalent. Code Blue/Outreach response.
