Successful completion of an approved NP program at a minimum of a Master of Nursing level or equivalent. Registration with CARNA as a NP. 1-2 years recent experience working with acute surgical patients. Willingness to complete additional education and/or certifications specific to area of practice. Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required. Advanced current knowledge of Nursing Theory, Nursing Philosophy, Educational Theory, and Research required.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Well-developed communication and negotiation skills. Excellent leadership abilities and teaching skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
1-2 years recent experience working with an orthopaedic trauma service and/or elective orthopaedic patients. Proven ability to develop and foster relationships. Ability to work autonomously and efficiently. Capable of adjusting to a fluctuating work environment. The ability to quickly prioritize tasks. Experience working with an electronic medical record. Advance Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
