Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required Qualifications:Ability to work independently in a rapidly changing environment required. Basic computer skills required. Ability to maintain effective and respectful working relationships required. Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, organizational and assessment skills, and the ability to work effectively as a team player required. Demonstrated active involvement in unit-based and/or program-wide quality initiatives required. Demonstrated excellent leadership skills required. Charge Nurse experience on a hemodialysis unit required. Ability to effectively lead and support staff through operational change required. Ability to effectively manage patient behavioural challenges required. Minimum 5 years of current nephrology nursing experience required. Current acute and/or chronic hemodialysis experience required. Ability to successfully complete the Specialized Clinical Competency of Hemodialysis required.
Preferred Qualifications:Minimum 3-5 years of medical-surgical experience an asset. Previous patient teaching experience preferred. CNeph(C) qualification preferred. Minimum 3-5 years of medical-surgical experience an asset.
