Nuclear Medicine Technologist II - PET/CT, Research, Student Lead

The Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT department is offering an exciting opportunity to Nuclear Medicine Technologists to become a key member of our team. The PET/CT, Research, and Student Lead will report to the NM/PET supervisor and be responsible for current and future research and clinical trial set up and operation, maintenance and adjustments to all PET department protocols and scanning parameters, training and support of staff within PET/CT, Nuclear Medicine Technologist student coordination, scheduling and supervision, and Radiology resident training scheduling and support at the UAH. The successful candidate will rotate through all shifts, be assigned On Call coverage, and must be able to meet physical demands of the position which includes but is not limited to transporting patients, transferring patients, and handling and wearing lead for radiation protection.
Description:
As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMT) II, you will be responsible for performing the duties of clinical coordination, monitoring care, evaluation and staff supervision or is the radiation and laser safety officer. As a NMT II, you will be the senior technologist responsible for leading, organizing and directing all technical and daily work activities. You will ensure that the service provided is effective, efficient and of the highest standard. You will also participate in ensuring consistent workload distribution and productivity standards and procedures are followed.

Completion of diploma from an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology (NMT) program. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic & Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT).
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum three year experience working in an acute care hospital performing SPECT/CT, PET/CT, clinical trials, student preceptorship, and diagnostic CTs in the Nuclear Medicine setting. ACMDTT enhanced practice license for CT and Contrast Media for Nuclear Medicine Technologists. Basic life support certification. Class 7 TDG certification.
Preferred Qualifications:Health Canada Division 5 Training, Good Clinical Practice Training, iSTAT and Glucometer training, and completed AHS ROL.
