Required Qualifications:

Master's degree in Psychology; or master's degree in Social Work (clinical specialization) including education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy; or master's or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy; or master's degree in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Must be registered with an appropriate health professions regulating body. Registered Social Workers must be registered to perform restricted activities. Registered Psychologists must have completed their provisional registration requirements. A minimum of five years of prior clinical work with individuals with mental health and addiction concerns. Additional experience working with individuals with concurrent disorders is required. Computer proficiency is essential as the position requires use of an electronic medical record. Physical requirements of the position include the ability to sit/stand and walk through a large centre as well as use stairs; there is no elevator access. It is also a requirement that the incumbent be physically able to respond to behavioral/clinical emergency situations that may occur anywhere in the building.

Preferred Qualifications:

Designation as a Clinical Social Worker is preferred. Experience working in a Residential Treatment Centre is an asset. Additional formal training in CBT, DBT, group psychotherapy, family therapy and/or other endorsed forms of current evidence-based therapy is desirable.
