Enhancing community care options for Albertans continues to be a key priority for AHS. Our goal is to provide high-quality diverse community, home, and individual Addiction and Mental Health (AMH) services and to support the long-term mental health and wellness of Addiction and Mental Health clients and their families. To support this goal, the North Zone Addictions and Mental Health department has an exciting opportunity for an Menta Health Therapist with the Peace River Addictions and Mental Health (Child/Youth and Adult). In this role, you will provide mental health assessment, treatment, case coordination, crisis intervention & consultation to adults experiencing psychological, emotional, social, substance misuse or behavioral difficulties. This position may also facilitate groups &/or Walk-In sessions within the Addiction and Mental Health portfolio. The therapist works as a member of the multidisciplinary team providing services within the clinic setting as well as working collaboratively with community partners. We currently offer services during daytime hours; however, we may expand hours to include weekends &/or evenings. To be successful in this role, you will have strong organization skills and thrive on being self-directed in your work. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay. This position has transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. Description:

As the Mental Health Therapist, you will be required to use a variety of treatment modalities (individual, family, and group) to persons experiencing significant mental health difficulties. Working both independently and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide evidence informed and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management and treatment.

Required Qualifications:

Master's degree in Psychology; or master's degree in Social Work (clinical specialization) including education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy; or master's or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy; or master's degree in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.
