Required Qualifications:

Master's degree in Psychology; or master's degree in Social Work (clinical specialization) including education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy; or master's or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy; or master's degree in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Expert knowledge of co-occurring health needs (addiction and mental health) is required. Knowledge and experience using the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-V). Current Heart and Stroke Foundation (HSF) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers; Employer-provided training in Suicide Risk Management; Employer-provided training in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention; Certification specific to one or more evident-based psychotherapies preferred (individual and group); Trauma informed care modality experience. Must have 3-5 years of experience working with vulnerable populations including those with addiction and mental health concerns. Knowledge of and ability to apply the principles of trauma informed care in all interactions with clients. It is also a requirement that the incumbent is physically able to respond to behavioural/clinical emergencies that may occur anywhere in the building.
