Master's degree in Psychology; or master's degree in Social Work (clinical specialization) including education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy; or master's or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy; or master's degree in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.
Additional Required Qualifications:Completion of one of the following programs will be considered: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Psychiatric Nursing. Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. with: Related Master’s degree including training in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. or: Considerable experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Full Registration with respective regulatory College under the Health Professions Act. Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Non-Violent Crisis Intervention. Minimum of 3 years of relevant mental health experience, preferably in a community setting. Knowledge and experience with providing individual and group psychotherapy using evidenced-based modalities, preferably in a community setting. Knowledge and experience treating individuals experiencing addiction (substance and/or process). Ability to ambulate, climb stairs, and move quickly without limitations in a variety of environments.
Preferred Qualifications:Extensive knowledge of the resources of Addiction and Mental Health and the community. A strong understanding of client resources in the community and knowledge of mental health legislation including Community Treatment Orders is an asset.
