Required Qualifications:

Master's degree in Psychology; or master's degree in Social Work (clinical specialization) including education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy; or master's or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy; or master's degree in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Candidates with the following qualifications will be considered: Diploma or bachelor’s degree in nursing with a. a related master’s degree including training in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy or, b. considerable experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy Minimum of 3 years of relevant mental health experience. Current Heart and Stroke Foundation (HSF) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers. Employer provided Suicide Risk Management, and Prevention of Harassment and Violence (PoHV) or Non-Violent Crisis Intervention.

Preferred Qualifications:

A strong understanding of client resources in the community and knowledge of mental health legislation including Community Treatment Orders is an asset. Knowledge and experience with providing individual and group psychotherapy using an evidenced based modality. Knowledge and experience treating individuals experiencing addiction (substance and/or process) Working knowledge of LOCUS.
