Completion of one of the following programs: a Master's degree in Psychology, a Bachelor's degree in Social Work incorporating education in mental health assessment, brief counseling, and crisis intervention, a Master's or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy with similar educational components, a Bachelor's degree in Nursing with training and experience in mental health assessment, crisis intervention, and brief counseling, or a Bachelor's degree in Psychiatric Nursing. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.
Additional Required Qualifications:Masters degree required for Psychologists. Authorization to perform psychosocial interventions as applicable Minimum 3 years recent experience in Addiction and Mental Health required. Minimum 1-2 years experience providing group-based treatment to a similar population. Case management, mental health assessment, consultation and crisis stabilization experience required. Strong stabilization based, psychoeducational groups skills required Training and experience with trauma-informed, MI, CBT and/or DBT models required. Comprehensive discharge planning experience, including knowledge of Calgary zone addiction and mental health resources. Strong computer and word processing skills required. Current BLS Certification required.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience providing time-limited goal-focused care focused on stabilization. Basic knowledge of DSM 5, medical co-morbidities and psychotropic medications. Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team setting. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written skills. Strong decision making and organizational skills. NVCI.
