Completion of one of the following programs: a Master¿s degree in Psychology, a Bachelor¿s degree in Social Work incorporating education in mental health assessment, brief counseling, and crisis intervention, a Master¿s or Bachelor¿s degree in Occupational Therapy with similar educational components, a Bachelor¿s degree in Nursing with training and experience in mental health assessment, crisis intervention, and brief counseling, or a Bachelor¿s degree in Psychiatric Nursing. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum 5 years' of relevant mental health experience. Understanding of the application of the Alberta Mental Health Act. Knowledge and skill in mental health assessment, risk assessment, crisis intervention, treatment, brief solution focused therapy or equivalent. Knowledge of substance use disorders and/or process addictions. Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) Experience working with community and external stakeholders including Police and other emergency responders Strong collaborative and interpersonal skills as well as excellence in written and verbal communication Demonstrated creativity, flexibility, critical thinking and initiative is essential. Ability to prioritize and meet competing demands/requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:3 years Community Addiction and Mental Health experience. Efficient with LOCUS tool (Level of Care Utilization System) Knowledge and experience in the use of Connect Care.
