Required Qualifications:

Occupational Therapists: Completion of bachelor¿s degree in Occupational Therapy and active or eligible registration with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT). Psychologists: Completion of bachelor's degree in Psychology and active (or eligible registration) with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP). Registered Nurses and Registered Psychiatric Nurses: Completion of an accredited Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing education program and active (or eligible registration) with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) or the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Alberta (CRPNA). Social Workers: Completion of bachelor's degree in Social Work and active (or eligible registration) with the Alberta College of Social Work (ACSW).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum 6 years’ recent mental health experience, minimum 2 years community experience. Demonstrated ability to recognize and seek support for health challenges. Extensive experience conducting crisis assessments/suicide risk assessments with a provisional diagnosis independently in the community. Solid knowledge foundation of intervention and treatment modalities relevant to various clinical disorders and psychosocial and environmental problems is required. Strong crisis assessment and stabilization skills. High degree of creativity and flexibility to engage and work with a diverse client population with complex needs. Comprehensive knowledge of co-existing medical and mental illnesses which significantly impact the lives of vulnerable and marginalized populations is required. Comprehensive knowledge of the Alberta Mental Health Act and legislation is required. Must be confident to work from a concurrent capable perspective. Significant comfort with working with forensic clients who may pose a danger to the community. A significant level of physical fitness and stamina are required as the assertive outreach is active and may involve walking lengthy distances. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multi system partnership. Ability to work in stressful, demanding and changing conditions.

Preferred Qualifications:

Comprehensive knowledge of relevant community resources and agencies is an asset.
