Medical Radiation Technologist III
Your Opportunity:
Reporting to the Diagnostic Imaging manager, this position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of GR and Fluoroscopy. The Medical Radiation Technologist III will: Provide leadership and vision to support the department goals as they relate to AHS overall mission, vision, goals, philosophies, and policies. Provide department supervision organizing, prioritizing workflows, monitoring and evaluating staff and inventory levels, and assigning daily work. Facilitate and ensure the completion of staff orientation, education and training, including Annual Continuing Education (ACE) requirements. Monitor staff and department compliance with AHS standards and ensures high quality of patient care. (i.e. policies, procedures, protocols.). Develops, monitors, and adjusts patient and staff schedules and workflow to ensure effective and efficient services of the highest quality is provided. Responsible for staff scheduling and timekeeping as applicable. Collaborates with team to establish role expectations and assess individual and department performance. Participates in recruitment, interviewing and selection process. Identifies, develops and facilitates staff development, training or learning needs and promotes culture of learning. Engages staff and collaborates with department stakeholders to identify patient and area needs and apply context-appropriate solutions in support of safe, quality service and patient-family centered care.
Description:
As a Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) III, you will be responsible for the operational supervision of a staff team and work processes of a radiology department or program/function. You will act as the lead Clinical Preceptor for MRT students and primary liaison to the area Radiologist. Your work can include establishing and maintaining adequate levels of supplies and materials for the department and administering quality control assurance programs.

Completion of diploma from an accredited Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) program. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Graduate of a recognized and accredited School of Medical Radiological Technology as applicable and/or successful completion of the CAMRT Certification examination. Leadership and change management skills. Strong organizational skills. Ability to collaborate and work effectively with technical, medical and administrative personnel. Coaching and mentoring skills to foster an environment of collaboration and effective teamwork.
Preferred Qualifications:Five years’ work experience in Diagnostic Imaging preferred. Previous supervisory/management experience desired.
