The Claresholm General Hospital was opened in 1972 and today is an active treatment facility with 16 beds and a 24-hour emergency. We are actively seeking a Medical Radiation Technologist I (MRT) who is registered with Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists with experience and knowledge of policies and procedures to join our dynamic team in providing the highest level of service to our clients. As a member of the interdisciplinary team, this position is responsible for working all shifts and on-call, as assigned. Specifically, this position performs X-ray examinations, ECGs, Holter monitors, and reports results within the scope of practice of a Medical Radiologic Technologist. Reporting directly to the on-site supervisor, the MRT will be responsible for providing exemplary patient care by applying the regional policies and procedures. The scope of practice is a continuum ranging from basic to highly complex procedures and activities within the diagnostic imaging department.
Description:
As a Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) I, you will perform a variety of standard technical radiological imaging examinations on patients for the purpose of disease and pathology diagnosis. You will interpret physician requisitions, prepare and assess patients for examination and produce high quality diagnostic images for Physician/Radiologist review, and assist with the care and maintenance of equipment. Your work may include a variety of procedures such as general and portable radiography, mobile and surgical suite examinations, as well as fluoroscopy where required.

Completion of diploma from an accredited Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) program. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Ability to work collaboratively with the site, including the APL staff, Emergency Department, the Units and all DI Stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:Good organizational skills and ability to assume responsibility. Good interpersonal/communication skills. Ability to cooperate, work independently and promote good teamwork. Perception, initiative, good judgment, and concern for detail and accuracy. Ability to work under pressure and in emergency situations. Practices effective radiation protection, infection control, and safety. Epic (Connect Care) access.
