ABOUT THE ROLE: The Manager, Workforce Scheduling Systems is accountable to drive and measure an integrated, modern technology strategy to support the delivery of workforce scheduling services throughout the Alberta Healthcare Ecosystem. You will be responsible for managing a team of resources, assigning work packages to them, tracking progress and due dates, and ensuring that we deliver our commitments to our clients. This may include developing workplans for upgrades or enhancements. In managing a team of resources, you will monitor their progress, productivity and quality of their work. You will provide feedback and coaching to help them develop their skills. You will communicate with our clients regularly. This will include documenting and presenting our status to the client such as meeting service level commitments, due dates, issues, risks, and our recommendations. The ideal candidate has a proven track-record of creating and driving a cost-effective strategy and plans that delivers effective use of technology to drive business performance.

WHAT YOU WILL DO: Leadership and Department Management: Inspire and mentor a high performing team, cultivating a culture of collaboration, creativity, and results. This includes clear coaching, support, and direction, fostering strong alignment with internal and external to the department. Enhance Client Experience: Play a key role in addressing complex operational customer service challenges and driving improvements in service outcomes. Your ability to build and maintain strong client relationships will be crucial to enhancing shared service delivery. Provide Strategic Support: Offer insightful strategic recommendations to improve scheduling system services based on feedback from schedulers, shared service providers, and other stakeholders. Act as a key resource for resolving complex issues, leveraging your industry expertise to devise effective solutions. Create data driven decisions based on financial analysis and operational data both internal and external to Alberta Health Services. Champion Best Practices: Lead initiatives to establish and refine quality assurance protocols, improving quality outcomes and maximizing financial performance. Your expertise will guide the team in elevating service standards. Lead information Initiatives: Develop and support comprehensive programs for internal teams and stakeholders, promoting ongoing learning and professional development.

A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field is required. A master's degree or MBA is preferred. A minimum of 10 years of experience in technology transformation, with at least 5 years in a leadership role Proven success in leading and developing high-performance teams. Proven ability to provide support that improves operational efficiency and effectiveness. Strong skills in offering strategic recommendations and enhancing service delivery. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain productive relationships with customers and stakeholders. Excellent skills in clearly and effectively conveying complex information. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels. Comprehensive understanding and experience with healthcare. Strong budget management skills and experience. Exceptional presentation skills with the ability to articulate complex strategies to internal and external stakeholders at the executive level.

Preferred Qualifications:
Relevant certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional), PRINCE2 (Projects IN Controlled Environments), Agile (Scrum Master, Product Owner), and ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) are highly desirable.
