Manager, HR Administration
Your Opportunity:
Alberta Health Services has an exciting opportunity for a Manager, HR Administration in HR Shared Services (HRSS). You will manage both the HR Administration and Position Management teams responsible for processing HR transactions for over 120,000+ employees across AHS and its affiliates- Alberta Precision Laboratories, Covenant Health, Carewest and CapitalCare. Reporting to the Director of Employee Services, this role is critical to providing strategic leadership and operational excellence in HR service delivery. You will guide complex HR transactional processes within an integrated HR Information System (PeopleSoft), while also helping shape the strategic direction of HR Shared Services in alignment with our mission, vision and values.
Description:
This position is a key leadership role within HR Shared Services, responsible for overseeing the activities related to complex HR transactional production in an integrated HR information system. Responsibilities include lead and manage the HR Administration and Position Management teams ensuring efficient, accurate processing of employee life cycle transactions; provide strategic direction and leadership in the delivery of HR services within a large, unionized public sector organization; support and lead a high-performing, engaged workforce through coaching, performance development, and change management; collaborate on HR process improvements, driving quality assurance and operational best practices; partner with internal stakeholders to implement terms and conditions of employment and collective agreement updates in PeopleSoft; develop and execute an annual business plan for the HR Administration portfolio; and participate in HRSS strategic planning and organizational goal alignment.

A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related discipline is required. A minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership in an organization of significant size and complexity. Demonstrated proficiency with PeopleSoft. Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to assess performance and provide ongoing development. Experience in a unionized environment is necessary. Experience participating in a large HR system implementation is needed. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:
Expertise in the healthcare sector HR administration is preferred. Experience in project management, business process improvement, and/or quality assurance is an asset. Advanced knowledge of PeopleSoft HR Modules preferred.
