Your Opportunity:
Reporting to the Executive Director of Inpatient Medicine & Ambulatory Care, this dynamic Manager position is responsible for the overall leadership of Patient Care Units 71 and 72 at the Foothills Medical Centre. The Manager performs a key leadership role in the organization. The Manager duties include, but are not limited to: participating in strategic planning, identifying budget requirements (human, material, and capital resources) to safely meet patient care needs, managing of expenditures and variance analysis, establishing and maintaining standards of practice, hiring and managing performance of professional and support staff, creating and sustaining a healthy work environment, and maintaining collaborative working relationships with all stakeholders and facilitating the implementation of changes to structure and process in order to accomplish improved outcomes in patient satisfaction.

Baccalaureate degree from a recognized health program is required. Current College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA) or health profession registration required. Five years leadership experience with demonstrated clinical competence. Knowledge of the Department of Medicine is preferred. Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills. Self-directed and highly motivated. Analytical, organizational, planning, teaching, decision-making, and financial management skills. Positive, creative perspective, high energy to support regional initiatives. Experience with staff management and performance evaluation. Demonstrated ability to balance the needs of patients and the healthcare team. Demonstrated proficient budget management and the ability to be process based and results- oriented. Demonstrated capability to work within a multidisciplinary team, and to manage with a collaborative, flexible approach. Basic computer skills are required.

Preferred Qualifications:Master’s level preparation is preferred.
