The Okotoks Health and Wellness Centre (OHWC) is a modern, integrated healthcare facility serving the growing community of Okotoks and surrounding areas. Located just south of Calgary, the Centre provides a broad range of community-based and ambulatory services, including Public Health, Mental Health and Addiction, Rehabilitation Services, specialty clinics, and other interdisciplinary programs that support the health and wellness needs of the community. The Site Manager is a key leadership role within the Urgent Care Centres portfolio, reporting directly to the Director, Urgent Care Centres, Calgary Corridor. This position provides operational leadership, strategic direction, and oversight for the Okotoks Health and Wellness Centre and associated services. The Site Manager is responsible for supporting safe, high-quality, patient- and family-centered care while advancing Alberta Health Services' vision, mission, values, and strategic priorities. The successful candidate will join a collaborative leadership team and play a critical role in fostering strong relationships with staff, physicians, community partners, local stakeholders, and patients while supporting service integration and operational excellence across the site.
Description:
The Site Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and coordination of programs and services delivered within the Okotoks Health and Wellness Centre. This position provides operational oversight, strategic planning, resource management, quality improvement leadership, and support for interdisciplinary teams to ensure effective, efficient, and patient-centered care delivery. As the primary site leader, the Manager serves as a key point of contact for staff, physicians, patients, families, community organizations, municipal partners, health foundations, and the public regarding healthcare delivery and operational concerns. Responsibilities include planning, organizing, directing, monitoring, and evaluating site operations; identifying and responding to community and operational needs; supporting program development; leading change initiatives; and ensuring operational objectives are achieved. The Site Manager works closely with leaders across the Urgent Care Centres portfolio, Community Health Services, and physician partners to promote integrated service delivery and collaborative care. The role also requires strong working relationships with partner organizations, including Recovery Alberta, Primary Care Alberta, and Assisted Living Alberta, to support seamless patient care, service integration, and shared strategic priorities. The Manager is accountable for fostering a culture focused on patient-centered care, staff engagement, safety, quality, respect, and continuous improvement while ensuring effective stewardship of human, financial, and physical resources.

A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in a health-related discipline; Master's Degree preferred. Minimum three (3) years of progressive leadership or supervisory experience in a healthcare environment of significant size, complexity, and diversity. Experience managing ambulatory, community-based, urgent care, or integrated healthcare services is preferred. Demonstrated understanding of healthcare operations and service delivery within community and suburban settings. Proven leadership abilities with a strong commitment to collaboration, employee engagement, and team development. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Ability to plan, organize, and manage operational priorities, strategic initiatives, and multiple projects simultaneously.
Additional Required Qualifications:Experience leading quality improvement, patient safety, and change management initiatives. Demonstrated ability to foster partnerships and achieve organizational objectives within a complex environment, ideally within a unionized setting. Strong communication, relationship-building, and conflict-resolution skills. Proven success establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with physicians, staff, community partners, municipal stakeholders, and other internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning, professional development, innovation, and excellence in healthcare leadership. Knowledge of healthcare partnerships and service integration across Alberta's healthcare system. Solid understanding and experience working within urgent care, ambulatory care, community health, or integrated healthcare settings.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience leading within a multi-program healthcare facility serving diverse patient populations. Demonstrated success leading multidisciplinary teams through change and transformation. Experience collaborating with provincial healthcare partners, physicians, municipalities, community agencies, foundations, and volunteers. Strong track record in building collaborative relationships and achieving results through influence, engagement, and partnership.
