Reporting to the Executive Director, Clinical Neurosciences and Emergency Department, the Manager provides operational oversight for Neurosciences Units 100 and 111, the Transcranial Doppler Service, and the Calgary Stroke Program. The Manager is accountable for the delivery of safe, effective, patient-centered care and the overall performance of assigned units and programs. Responsibilities include operational and strategic planning, budget and resource management, workforce leadership, quality and safety improvement, and fostering a positive team culture. In partnership with physicians, staff, and other stakeholders, the Manager leads change initiatives and drives improvements in patient experience, clinical outcomes, and operational effectiveness.
Description:
The Manager is responsible for advancing the goals of Alberta Health Services, Foothills Medical Centre, and the Clinical Neurosciences portfolio. In partnership with the Medical Leader for Neurology and the Calgary Stroke Program, the Manager provides operational leadership, fosters a positive and engaged workplace culture, oversees program performance, and builds strong relationships with physicians, healthcare leaders, and key stakeholders, including Neuroscience Care Alberta and the Calgary Health Foundation. The Manager leads initiatives to improve patient outcomes, quality, safety, and operational performance while supporting staff engagement and financial sustainability. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, change management, communication, collaboration, and decision-making skills, with a commitment to patient-centered care and continuous improvement.

Baccalaureate Degree in Healthcare Profession. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable college or licensing body. Minimum three years management experience in a complex multidisciplinary healthcare setting. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills. Self-directed, highly motivated, flexible and solution focused, with the ability to inspire, mentor and build confidence in others. Demonstrated skills in evaluation, complex decision making, quality improvement and management, project leadership and change management. Strong financial analysis, reporting and management skills. Experience with recruitment and retention, performance management and evaluation. Proven ability to foster partnerships across teams and organizations, to achieve shared goals and objectives.
Additional Required Qualifications:As Required.
Preferred Qualifications:Master’s Degree in Healthcare or Business Administration. Leadership experience in an acute care environment. Experience in program management. Experience with implementing and integrating innovative technology in a clinical environment. A demonstrated pattern of professional development and growth.
