Your Opportunity:

The Tobacco, Smoking, Vaping Enforcement (TSVE) Manager will provide supervisory support, will act in a program leadership role for both Calgary and Edmonton Peace Officer teams and will report directly to the Director for any operational variances that potentially falls outside of the job duties of AHS-Alberta Peace Officers (8), enforcement procedures or time approvals of all Alberta Peace Officers and contracted youth test shoppers (40). This frontline leader will oversee and review all operations by both Public Health Inspectors and Peace Officers that involve the Tobacco Smoking Vaping Reduction Act and its enforcement program. This Leader may also appoint Field Training Officers for Safe Healthy Environments team for any Tobacco Smoking Vaping Reduction Act investigations/inspections conducted in Alberta.

Required Qualifications:

The candidate must have a diploma or degree in a relevant discipline such as law enforcement, justice or environmental health. A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a regulatory/law enforcement capacity is required. Relevant management experience is an asset. Must be eligible for appointment as an AB Peace Officer with enforcement duties involving the public, as identified by the Province of Alberta.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Travel is required and may include the use of a personal vehicle. A standard driver’s abstract may also be required for use of corporate lease vehicles.
