Alberta Health Services has an exciting opportunity at Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre for a Manager, responsible for the inpatient rehabilitation unit (Unit 35) including management of both the nursing and allied health staff, as well as oversight of the Central Intake Team that processes all inpatient rehabilitation referrals in Central. Reporting to the Director of Allied Health, you will play a key leadership role, responsible and accountable for providing direction, team leadership and organization of operational activities. You will work with inter-professional teams and operationalize processes to support evidence based best practices in the delivery of nursing care and allied health services. You will help to ensure services are provided in a culturally safe environment and that all who are involved and treated with dignity and respect while fostering networks and partnerships in order to establish standards of practice and achieve goals and priorities within the Allied Health portfolio. Red Deer is the third largest city in Alberta with a population of 100,844 (2021). It is located halfway between Calgary and Edmonton. It’s small city with a beautiful river valley, miles of walking/biking trails, many sports/leisure facilities, an active arts & culture community, and much more. As a member of the Central Corridor Allied Health Leadership team, you will work collaboratively with other Allied Health Managers, multiple site leaders/management/departments/Professional Practice Leaders to support excellence in patient and family centered care. You will be responsible for a large inter-professional team and support the implementation of program and organizational initiatives. This position is responsible and accountable in providing input to the direction, leadership and organization of the activities of Allied Health. You will support the vision, mission and strategic direction of AHS within Unit 35 at RDRHC. Key responsibilities include people and relationship management, operational planning and management, change leadership and strategic planning, and safety and risk management.

A minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or an Allied Health discipline. Current registration with appropriate provincial regulatory college. A minimum of 3 years within the last 5 years in a leadership or management role ideally in an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity. A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development.
