This is a challenging and exciting opportunity for a pharmacy professional to join the Pharmacy Connect initiative. As one of the Operations Managers for the Central Production North (CPN) in Edmonton that will provide services to the North, Central and Edmonton zones, for AHS and Covenant sites. CPN is a state-of-the-art facility focused on efficiency and overall improved patient safety across its serviced sites. CPN houses new technology and equipment to help drive these initiatives. The successful candidate will have influence in shaping the future state of operations at the facility. And once the facility is operational, this individual will be a permanent member of our CPN Pharmacy Operations Leadership Team. This is a unique opportunity to be in a key leadership position for a major organizational milestone.
Description:
The Operations Manager, Pharmacy Services, is a key leadership role reporting directly to the CPN Site Manager. This position is accountable for the management and overall performance of medication distribution services ensuring alignment with pharmacy strategies and initiatives in compliance with Alberta College of Pharmacy regulations and standards. Also responsible for maximizing scope of practice for technician and assistant roles in medication distribution. This individual will also be responsible for fostering internal and external stakeholder relationships. Development and use of metrics to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of distribution services. Resolving complex and challenging problems concerning human resources management and staffing levels in a unionized environment, to ensure adequate service levels are maintained. Leading staff responsible for drug distribution to provide medication distribution that is both safe and timely. The direct supervision and training of pharmacy technicians and assistants. Registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the Alberta College of Pharmacy.
Additional Required Qualifications:
A minimum of 3-5 years in a hospital pharmacy role ideally in an organization of similar size, complexity and diversity. A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development. Leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision making responsibilities with limited information, coaching and teaching, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others. Demonstrated ability to manage change and create innovative solutions for complex and diverse issues. Proven ability to foster partnerships and to achieve organizational goals within an organization and ideally managing within a unionized sector. Ability to plan, organize and manage short- and long-term plans and projects and deliver customer-focused results. Strong track record with establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Ability to manage human, financial and physical resources within an operating environment. Effective leadership abilities combined with a strong commitment to operating within a team environment and the ability to motivate and inspire other to achieve common goals. Ability to give and receive feedback with a growth mindset. Ability to help create and foster a positive work culture.
Preferred Qualifications:
Effective communicator with strong organizational skills, influential skills, client focused orientation and commitment to providing quality services. Excellent analytical and decision-making skills. Ability to foster a climate of cooperation amongst, and build solid relationships with public agencies, government, committees and other partners. Secondary education in leadership is an asset.
