Description:
This is a temporary position that you will manage all daily maintenance and repair activities across the locations described above ensuring FME and or contracted trade and non-trade personal conduct tasks safely, diligently, entirely and as per various codes. You will be responsible for managing unionized staff. You will manage procurement and budgets as per AHS procurement policies. You will complete regular audits of staff workloads, training, appraisals, planned/demand maintenance, safety paperwork and inspections among others. You will be responsible to review and approve time and pay requests. You will manage evolving building issues and concerns during and out of regular hours. This role requires strong communication skills that requires coordinating with Site administration, other site managers, trades, contractors among many others.

Alberta certification in a mechanical, electrical, or related trade, interprovincial Red Seal preferred. Maintenance Management Professional MMP, Knowledge of Current Building Code, Fire Code and CSA guidelines as applied in a health care setting. Preferred a minimum of 3-5 years of management experience, or recognized equivalent, in building operations in a hospital or intuitional setting or in an organization of significant size. Be able to demonstrate clear pattern of professional and personal development and leadership in a facility maintenance environment. Leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision making responsibilities, coaching and teaching, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others. Ability to manage human, financial and physical resources within an operating environment. Must have experience in managing the operation of complex building systems or industrial processes. Managing both planned and demand maintenance activities in an acute care setting.
Additional Required Qualifications:Knowledge of specific and appropriate policies, i.e. Infection Prevention and Control. Demonstrated Change Management and create innovative solutions for complex and diverse issues. Must have experience in tendering, contract administration, with experience in various forms; RFQ, RFP, for consulting and contracting with understanding of public sector tendering Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and specifications. Must have the ability to read, interpret, apply and communicate Code, Regulations and adopted Standards.
Preferred Qualifications:Certificate as a Power Engineer or certification as a mechanical or electrical or engineering technologist. Alberta certification in a mechanical, electrical, or related trade, interprovincial Red Seal preferred. Maintenance Management Professional MMP.
