Your Opportunity:

Description:

As a Maintenance Worker IV, you will perform a variety of highly skilled and complex maintenance and repair work requiring considerable initiative and judgment in determining the appropriate work methods consistent with standards, regulations and procedures. You will utilize your supervisory and/or maintenance skills and experience to perform preventative maintenance and repair duties on specialized equipment and building control systems, and to provide leadership and direction to other maintenance staff in order to meet operational requirements. In addition, you will perform specialized machine repairs, as well as the maintenance and monitoring of systems and equipment. You may be responsible to resolve escalated operational issues; act as a delegate for the Manager on operational issues; participate in the recruitment and selection of new staff; assisting the design and implementation of preventative maintenance programs; estimate project costs; and liaise with outside agencies and contractors.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of post-secondary education in a related field and/or technical certification in a related field required or 4th Class Power Engineer Certificate as per ABSA kW rating guidelines where boiler support is necessary.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Must have 5 years Lead hand or supervisory experience and be confidant delegating work tasks to others. Must have 3-5 years' experience working in a hospital setting performing maintenance and operations tasks. Must have a 4th Class Power Engineer Certificate and or Red Seal Journeyperson Certification in an associated building trade. Must be able to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing. Must have basic computer skills using a Windows operating system. Must be able to work an on-call rotation and respond to night, evening and weekend callbacks within 30 minutes. Must be able to regularly lift 20kg and able to stand, walk, crouch, kneel or work on ladders for extended periods of time.
