Completion of post-secondary education in a related field and/or 1 year specialized/technical training in a related field OR 5th Class Power Engineer Certificate as per ABSA kW rating guidelines or AHS standards where boiler support is necessary. Possession of a valid driver's licence.
Additional Required Qualifications:Applicant must have a 4th Class (or 5th class) Power Engineer Certificate. Must have 3-5 years previous experience with mechanical, architectural, or structural building systems. Must be familiar with a variety of tools and equipment used in the maintenance program including groundskeeping equipment and snow removal equipment. Must be able to communicate clearly in English, verbally and in writing. Must be familiar with established safety rules, regulations and procedures and have the ability to work with minimum supervision. Must have the ability to perform physical activity including but not limited to: lifting (up to 20kg), pushing/pulling, (up to 150 kg) with regular frequency and be able to walk, crouch, stand, kneel or reach above shoulders for extended periods of time. Candidate must also be available for an on-call and weekend rotation once per month.
