Description:
As a Maintenance Worker II, you may perform routine preventative and demand maintenance activities within the exterior and interior of the building. Under general supervision, you may perform a variety of semi-skilled maintenance and repair work on facility architectural, structural and mechanical systems/components to ensure safety and efficient operation of the building systems and equipment. You may perform a wide range of general maintenance duties including maintenance and repair of drywall, floors and painting. Additional duties may include minor plumbing repair; minor repairs on equipment; checks on equipment for pressure and temperature; and disassembly of equipment for cleaning.

Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent. Possession of a valid driver's licence. Power Engineer 5th Class Certificate required where boiler support is necessary.
Additional Required Qualifications:Grade 12 as well as 5 years previous related Facility Maintenance experience in a Healthcare setting is to be demonstrated. Knowledge of Building Systems such as Mechanical, HVAC, Refrigeration, Architectural systems, and Carpentry is required. Physically fit as lifting up to 23 kg (50 lbs.) is required with this role. Working on roofs, outdoors, indoors and responding to seasonal requirements is required. Ability to work both independently as well as be an effective team member. Due to the large area of the facility, there is a requirement for walking for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications:Valid First Aid would be an asset. Valid Fit testing certificate would be an asset. Valid Fall arrest and aerial platform training would be an asset. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in Carpentry, assembly of complicated furnishings and equipment as well as tile flooring.
