Description:
As a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologist I, you will produce and record magnetic resonance images for interpretation by a Radiologist or Cardiologist for the purpose of diagnosis and tracking of disease and pathology. You will produce high quality diagnostic MRI images as ordered by a Physician, prepare and position patients for examination, review patient history, explain procedures, respond to the physical and psychological needs of patients throughout the scanning procedure, and maintain MRI equipment.

Completion of diploma from an accredited Medical Resonance Imaging (MRI) Program required or completion of certificate from an accredited MRI Technologist program plus a diploma from an accredited Program in Medical Radiology, Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Ultrasound), Nuclear Medicine or Radiation Therapy. Active or eligible for registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively liaise with physicians, nurses, allied health staff, and other hospital departments. Evidence of effective decision making and collaboration working with others in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:Familiarity with Connect Care or other electronic health record systems. Previous experience in a Regional Hospital setting. Venipuncture certification. Central Venous Access Device Use Authorization Program completion.
