Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Qualifications:Demonstrated ability to perform and document physical assessments. Demonstrated ability to administer medications within the acute care setting. Demonstrated critical thinking skills regarding clinical judgment and problem solving. Recent experience in an acute care setting at full scope of practice. Recent experience in caring for medical/cardiac patients required (3 within the last 5 years). Ability to work as a member of a team and to request and accept direction. Effective interpersonal communication skills. Basic computer skills are a requirement. Compliance with the AHS Hand Hygiene policies. Compliance with AHS values.
Preferred Qualifications:Dysrhythmia certification, telemetry certification desirable.
