As an integral member of Health Link, the Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for providing health information to callers over the telephone throughout Alberta working collaboratively with members of a multidisciplinary team. Using clinical software, and a variety of information databases you will provide health information to educate callers about their health concerns. Using your strong customer focus, clinical nursing, and problem-solving skills you will provide high quality and accurate health information in a contact center environment. As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:The successful candidate will have a minimum 3 years of experience in a clinical practice setting with a minimum 2 years recent clinical experience in providing patient teaching and providing health information to a diverse population. Demonstrated competency with computer applications to complete computer searches and clinical documentation on web-based computer programs in a supported environment. The successful candidate must have a minimum typing speed 35 WPM and intermediate computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience providing patient teaching and health information over the phone or other platforms.
