Licensed Practical Nurse
Your Opportunity:
As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at Olds hospital and Care Centre, you will performing a broad scope of LPN duties in accordance with Alberta health Services Policies and nursing care standards. You will work with patients and an inter-professional team in the Medical / Surgical and Obstetrics - Post Partum whilst demonstrating a professional, positive attitude; and excellent communication, problem solving and inter-professional skills. You will play a role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. Olds's residents benefit from the close proximity to big city amenities while also being able to enjoy a wide variety of recreational facilities and amenities within the town, such as the Aquatic Centre for swimming, Sportplex for skating. Olds is along the Highway 2 corridor between red deer (63km) and Calgary (95km) a population of 8,944. Municipal Library. Olds is a very short distance from the Foothills Mountains, great for any outdoor enthusiasts.

Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and a practice permit as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:1-3 years of Acute Care experience. Lead 2 cardiac lead interpretation course. IV Direct Administration course. CAM B cardiac rhythm interpretation course. Experience with CVAD. Post Partum care, 1-3 years preferred Up to date with LPN courses and the ability to work to your full scope of practice. Ability to work on your feet for long periods. Ability to work independently and within the team setting. Ability to communicate effectively with all healthcare disciplines. Adapt to a changing environment and ability to prioritize the needs of the department. Follow the policies and procedures of Alberta Health Services. Up to date It's Your Move and Mask Fit testing.
Preferred Qualifications:Emergency training and experience 1-3 years preferred Recent experience with obstetrical patients and / or newborn babies. FERN, CTAS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, CAM B. Lead II, Palliative care courses, Non Violent Crisis intervention,. Obs 101. Wound care education.
