Description:

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team, utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, and demonstrated skill level, in alignment with applicable legislation, standards of practice, policies, and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, high quality, patient and family centred care while reflecting the shared vision and values of the organization.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and a practice permit as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Recent acute care experience required; cardiac experience preferred. Excellent assessment, documentation, clinical, organizational, and patient care skills are required, as well as the ability to communicate findings in a concise and accurate manner. Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills are needed. Able to stand for long periods, lift a minimum of 50lbs and assist patients with mobilization and transport. The successful candidate must be able to identify their own learning needs and seek guidance in professional practice where knowledge deficits occur. Successful completion of the unit specific course/exam. Reference from the current manager.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in Cardiology or CV Surgery wards. Experience with Telemetry and Connect Care. Successful completion of Unit Specific Course.
