The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Home Care works as a member of an interprofessional health care team utilizing the nursing process to provide direct nursing care to individuals across the life span. The LPN is responsible for their nursing practice as defined by the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). In collaboration with the Registered Nurse Case Manager, the LPN is responsible to assess, plan, implement and evaluate the needs of Home Care clients and their caregivers/families.

You will be guided by your education, experience, and demonstrated skill level, in alignment with applicable legislation, standards of practice, policies, and procedures. Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and a practice permit as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Completion of a post-basic Medication Administration Course for LPNs. Handling, moving and lifting heavy or awkward equipment and/or individuals are required. Ability to perform all work-related duties in accordance with regulated legislature.
Preferred Qualifications:Recent work experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Minimum of two years current nursing experience with one year in a community-based setting preferred. A keen interest in wound care and a willingness to acquire expertise through education and training. A team player with excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
