Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and a practice permit as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Demonstrates commitment to patient and family centered care. Ability to multitask and care for acutely ill and unstable patients. Critical thinking and ability to manage unpredictable situations. Recent acute care nursing experience of 2 year or DI nursing. Hemodynamic monitoring, arrhythmia interpretation, physical assessments, and aseptic techniques. Certification in IV initiation, direct IV medication, CVC, PICC lines, blood glucose, procedural sedation and peri anesthesia post GA monitoring course. Must be a team player, adaptable and flexible and the ability to jump in and always help. Experience coordinating services for patient movement through sites and zones for procedures. Supporting patients from all socio-economic high-risk demographics with compassion and respect. Must be able to complete all components of the job including OHS/WHS requirements of push, pulling, bending, and >lifting 50lb & wear lead aprons (23lbs) for min 6.75 hours/day, Stand/walk for the majority of the shift, working all required shift patterns, and administer/handle all medications including narcotics independently in an unsupervised environment. Must have current DI Nursing experience.
Preferred Qualifications:Current DI Nursing experience.
