Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active, or eligible for, registration and a practice permit as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses and Health Care Aides of Alberta (CLHA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum one year experience, in the past two years, in an emergency or urgent care centre working to full scope of practice. Ability to perform and document physical assessments, ability to administer medications within the emergency room setting. Critical thinking skills, clinical judgement and problem solving. Ability to work as an effective team member, to accept and request direction as required. Effective interpersonal and communication skills. Basic computer skills and strong knowledge and experience using Netcare and Connect Care. ENPEP / FERN modules completed, CTAS.

Preferred Qualifications:

TNCC, ACLS, Obsterics in ED, Trauma 101, Paediatric Advanced Care. Wound care education, NRP, CAM B. Lead II, Palliative care courses, Non Violent Crisis intervention, Completed Indigenous Awareness, N95, It's Your Move.
