Your Opportunity:

Join Our Team at Cold Lake Healthcare Centre as a Licensed Practical Nurse making a meaningful impact as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at this rural hospital with acute care having 24 active inpatient beds. In this role, you’ll work to the full scope of your practice within a multidisciplinary team, delivering patient and family-centered care while utilizing evidence-based practices. Your care will be provided to a variety of clients that could be dealing with urgent care needs, post-surgical recovery, pediatrics, maternity and the facility also is a Stoke Centre. Your strong organizational and critical thinking skills will be used daily as you provide wholistic care to the clients. We are looking for someone who is a strong problem solver and decision maker to assess, plan and evaluate care interventions. You believe in engaging patients and families in their care, promoting the clients’ health while delivering safe, quality care and modeling Alberta Health Services values. You will benefit from the ability to cross-train to work with all areas of the hospital and a supportive team environment, including emergency, day surgery, pre- and post-endoscopy, and clinics. Description:

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team, utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, and demonstrated skill level, in alignment with applicable legislation, standards of practice, policies, and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, high quality, patient and family centred care while reflecting the shared vision and values of the organization.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active, or eligible for, registration and a practice permit as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses and Health Care Aides of Alberta (CLHA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Preferred Qualifications:

1-2 years of recent Med surg experience. NRP. Training in NRP is to be expected following hire and is offered on site. Cross training to other nursing departments within CLHCC may be necessary.
