Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active, or eligible for, registration and a practice permit as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses and Health Care Aides of Alberta (CLHA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse education program required. Responsible to maintain and provide proof of active registration and practice permit with CLPNA, including specialized practice registration for the assigned position- required. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support- Health Care provider (BCLS-HCP) required. 2-3 years’ experience in Pediatric acute care and/or Pediatric Ambulatory care required. Clear communication skills in verbal and written English. Effective interpersonal, communication and time management skills. Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team providing family centered care. Connect Care and EMR experience and up to date computer skills are required. Must be able to push/lift/pull up to 50 lbs or more, be able to stand for long periods of time, and walk for a large portion of the shift. Successfully pass the Stollery Medication Administration exam with 90% or more during the course of orientation. Successfully pass the Stollery PEARS (Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization) course - completed during orientation- required.
