Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active, or eligible for, registration and a practice permit as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses and Health Care Aides of Alberta (CLHA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum of 5 years’ related experience with a variety of surgical service specialties/procedures and/or acute nursing required. Advanced knowledge of gastroenterology diseases, disorders, procedures and treatment protocols required. Knowledge and skill with computers including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, SharePoint as well as experience with Alberta Net Care and Connect Care are required. Demonstrated telephone assessment and triage experience skills required. Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods of time. Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively liaise with various healthcare professionals and patients. Excellent communication skills. Demonstrated organizational skills with attention to detail required. Proven leadership skills required. Strong decision making and clinical assessment skills required. Exceptional team player with the ability to function and adapt in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment required. Able to work independently and demonstrate time management skills. Demonstrated ability to embrace and commit to continuous learning required.
