Endoscopy is a heavy work environment requiring the continuous transfer and pushing of sedated patients. As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. Licensed Practical Nurse – Endoscopy will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. Description:
As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Certification and recent experience in direct IV push drug administration preferred and IV start proficiency. A demonstrated knowledge of Gastroenterology/Pulmonary medicine as well as anatomy and physiology of the GI/Respiratory systems. Minimum 5 years of nursing experience in an acute care setting. Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment while being able to: lift 50lbs, push 250lbs, transfer 250lbs. Minimum 1 year of Endoscopy experience.
Preferred Qualifications:2 years nursing experience with Emergency or ICU or PACU. Recent experience in Endoscopy and Bronchoscopy. Computer literacy.
