Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Demonstrated excellent assessment, organization and patient care skills required along with the ability to communicate findings in a concise and accurate manner. Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly to changing and fluctuating priorities and workloads. Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Must be able to identify own learning needs and seek guidance in professional practice where knowledge deficits occur. Advanced Authorization: Med Admin by CVC, PICC or IVAD.
Preferred Qualifications:Minimum 1 year emergency nursing experience within the last two years. Preference will be given to those with one or more of the following certifications: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), and/or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). Certified Emergency Nurse (C.N.A. or C.N.E.). Acute/Critical Care experience, within the last two years. Preference will be given to applicants with recent experience in a tertiary care facility Emergency Department.
