Your Opportunity:

You’re an organized, adaptable Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) who is committed to providing excellent patient care. Alberta Health Services (AHS) has a unique opportunity to join the Diagnostic Imaging team at the brand-new, state-of-the-art Arthur J.E. Child Comprehensive Cancer Centre. Working in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary, multi-modality environment, you will educate and prepare patients who are undergoing a variety of diagnostic imaging procedures, and provide monitoring and care before, during, and after these procedures. A vital part of the multi-disciplinary team, you will evaluate and respond to the patient’s condition and care while in the Diagnostic Imaging Department. In this role, you may rotate through all the imaging areas on site, including interventional radiology, DI recovery, Nuclear Medicine and other modalities as required. In this role, you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities, and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure patient safety and well-being while in Diagnostic Imaging. As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Must be able to perform multiple, frequent patient transfers each shift. Experience in Hemodynamic monitoring, medication administration, and PCA Pumps require. Certification in IV therapy, CVC Access and Care, POCT blood glucose monitoring and dysrhythmia Interpretation required. Must be able to wear a lead apron (15-20lbs) for prolonged periods of time.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience in Diagnostic imaging interventional and angiography procedures, including interventional scrub training, desired.
