Description:
As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum 1 year emergency experience within the last 2 years. Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). Strong assessment, organization, and patient care skills, with a proven ability to communicate findings concisely and accurately. Adept at adapting to fluctuating priorities and workloads, with strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities. Committed to identifying personal learning needs and seeking professional guidance when necessary. This role requires prolonged periods of standing and walking, as well as assisting in the transport, lifting, and positioning of patients. Additional physical demands include bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling equipment.
Preferred Qualifications:Preference will be given to those with Certified Emergency Nurse (C.N.A. or C.N.E.). Acute/Critical Care experience within the last 2 years. Able to demonstrate excellent assessment, organizational, patient care, and leadership skills. Triage and/or Charge nurse experience an asset.
