Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum of 1 years recent experience in one of the four procedural areas: Cystoscopy, Urodynamics, Recovery Room, Minor Procedures as well as General surgery and Orthopedics required. Preference will be given to those with experience in an acute care setting. A demonstrated knowledge of Urology, surgery and Orthopedic medicine. Certification and current experience with IV initiation, direct IV push drug administration and ECG Rhythm Analysis required. Must have current sedation and cardiac rhythm interpretation SCCs completed. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Must be an independent thinker with the ability to problem solve and critically think. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment required. Must be able to lift, push, and/or pull greater than 75lbs. Physical demands and requirements include: prolonged, extensive and/or considerable standing and walking; lifting, positioning and transferring of patients; considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling and crouching. May be required to work extended day shifts
Preferred Qualifications:Proficiency in Connect Care is preferred. Peri-operative, Post-anesthesia and Procedural Sedation certification are preferred. ACLS certification is an asset.
