Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Must be able to work to full scope of practice (physically, mentally and emotionally) on this very busy fast paced unit. Must be able to push, pull and lift at least 50 lbs. and have the endurance to. In this position, you will be on your feet for an extended period (both walking and standing), and you must be able to assist in transporting, lifting and positioning of patients. You will also be required to bend, lift, push, and pull equipment. Criminal records check with vulnerable sector check for external applicants within the last 90 days. Proficient written and verbal communication skills required. Strong critical thinking skills and experience with team nursing.
Preferred Qualifications:Connect Care training and experience preferred. Preference given to those who have completed their suite of Indigenous Awareness learning and other required education, experience working with CoACT elements of care. Experience working with patients with dementia, delirium, Alzheimer’s disease, and behavioral challenges is considered an asset.
