Wainwright is located in a rural setting where Licensed Practical Nurses work within a multidisciplinary team to provide family focused nursing care. This environment is suitable for candidates who are independent and self-driven. Homecare staff provide hands on care for a diverse client group in private homes, community group housing, non-designated Lodge/Manor settings and supportive living facility both in the town of Wainwright and the surrounding community. Description:

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Ability to meet the physical demands of position required. Competence in relevant technical nursing skills and a willingness to learn new skills as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Homecare Experience preferred. Home Care Connect Care Training Completed. Demonstrated ongoing responsibility for maintaining own continuing competence. 5 years Nursing Experience. This role is physical in nature and includes but is not limited to transferring patients, moving supplies and requires walking, bending, pushing, pulling, and lifting greater than 40-50lbs.
