Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum one year nursing experience obtained within the past 2 years working greater than 0.60 FTE. Experience in antepartum and newborn care an asset. A willingness to learn new skills as required. Ability to work shift work and meet the physical demands of the job. Strong comprehensive patient assessment and decision making.
Preferred Qualifications:Recent Maternity/Gynecology experience (obtained within the last year working greater than 0.50 FTE). Preference will be given to those with recent IV therapy experience. Experience in the care of low-risk medical-surgical patients. Certification(s)/training in relevant specialty area including: MoreOB, Breastfeeding education, bladder scanning, and knowledge of postpartum pathway and newborn care. Up to date ROL. Connect Care experience.
