Licensed Practical Nurse
Your Opportunity:
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) works in a fast-paced Clinic. Working within the full scope of practice, the LPN is responsible for the initial assessment of patients, minor procedure provision and patient teaching. As an LPN in a clinic setting, you are an important part of an interdisciplinary team that ensures appropriate patient care in an outpatient setting. The LPN plays a key role in the support of an integrated and holistic approach to the patient's healthcare and health promotion. Strong assessment skills are required as well as the ability to adapt to different situations quickly. The LPN acts as the liaison between the interdisciplinary team and other providers to support the patient.

You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Connect Care experience required. Previous experience as an LPN is required (Within the last 2 years). The ability to balance numerous demands and conflicting priorities is required. Must be able to lift and carry 10-15kg regularly. Must be able to participate in hands on care of patients (i.e.: transfers, bariatric clients, bending, twisting, walking distances).
Preferred Qualifications:Experience in an ambulatory care setting. Experience with patient teaching. Experience assisting physician during minor procedures.
