Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum 2 years of experience in an inpatient practice setting. Working knowledge of concurrent disorders, risk assessments, safety plans, psychotropic medications and mental status assessments. Working knowledge of client and family centered care principles. Working knowledge of relevant legislation is required, including the Alberta Mental Health Act and Health Information Act.
Preferred Qualifications:Current NVCI/NCI (Non-Violent Crisis Intervention) certification. Experience in mental health and addictions practice settings. Experience managing the medical complications that could arise with eating disorders and ability to provide treatment as directed, assess potential difficulties, and respond to medical emergencies.
