Your Opportunity:
The Lois Hole Hospital for Women provides expert patient care for women of all ages and in all stages of life located at the Royal Alexandra Hospital (RAH) one of Alberta’s largest and longest-serving hospitals. Centrally located in Edmonton’s downtown core, the RAH serves a diverse community, including some of our province’s most vulnerable populations. In this Licensed Practical Nurse position working with obstetrical patients, you will have the opportunity to use your advanced clinical skills to perform a variety of nursing duties by administering safe and effective nursing care according to hospital policies and nursing care standards. As the successful candidate, you demonstrate a professional attitude while working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, as part of the Regularized Relief Team, you will coverage shifts on all areas of the Women’s program. These include Gynecology, Postpartum and Antepartum. Being flexible and the ability to get along with people is important in this role.
Description:
As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Successful completion of a medication exam is required prior to interview.
Preferred Qualifications:One-year recent acute care hospital experience; training and recent experience in any/all areas of Women’s Health; current NRP certification; and previous experience on a Relief Team.
