In addition to a competitive rate of pay and excellent benefits, AHS currently offers new hires who accept Regular Full-time positions located north of the 57th Parallel a Northern Allowance (annual maximum of $6,300). This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay. Permanent and temporary employees working in excess of one (1) year whose work sites are above the 57th parallel are also eligible to receive an annual reimbursement of personal travel expenses to an annual maximum of $1,235. Eligible employees will be reimbursed for the cost of one (1) round trip, per calendar year, to any destination within Alberta. Travel must originate from a community above the 57th parallel to any destination within Alberta and cannot be carried over. Additional incentives include temporary housing (up to three months), and Relocation Assistance, based on eligibility and availability.
Description:
As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:You must be a great team player with exceptional communication skills. You need to be able to work independently or as part of a team. You must be well organized and able to prioritize your caseload. You must be comfortable travelling to communities outside of High Level and you must have a good understanding of the Indigenous culture.
Preferred Qualifications:Previous experience working in a navigator role, or have a number of years of experience working with obstetrical patients. Previous experience working with Connect Care.
